THF is a class of heterocyclic organic compounds. It is one of the strong polar ethers and is used as a medium grade non proton solvent in chemical reactions and extraction. It is colorless and volatile liquid with an odor similar to ether. It can be soluble in most organic solvents such as water, ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene, etc.
